So, you’ve decided to buy your kid an electronic ride-on—congrats! We’re sure you and your kid will be thrilled with your purchase. However, that’s only the first step of the purchase process. Next, you need to move on to deciding which kind to get for them. Chances are, your kid will be excited about their new toy regardless of which one you get, but as a parent, it’s your job to ensure that they get the toy that is best suited for them.
Lucky for you, we’ve put together a guide specifically for this problem. There’s no need to worry about what features a car does or doesn’t have. We’ll be going through our whole catalog of vehicles, going over what each one offers. So, without further ado, here’s our guide on how to choose the perfect ride-on vehicle for your child.
One-Seater Ride-Ons
Our first category is best for kids who want to have the independence to go it alone. It’s mostly taken up by our Lamborghini models. Although, there are a couple of others available, such as the Pagani and a firetruck. The firetruck, in particular, comes with a toy fire extinguisher, water gun, and a firefighter hat. This is perfect for kids who like to play pretend or dream of being a firefighter one day. We would like to note that none of our ride-ons are waterproof. Since the firetruck has a water gun, we wanted to make sure everyone was aware of this fact.
Most of the power wheels in this group come with Bluetooth support or AUX cable jacks so you or your kid can jam out to music while on the go. Some of them even have air conditioning for those sweltering days. They also all have gradual acceleration and reliable braking built into them. In case you’re afraid that your child won’t stop in time when they are heading towards danger, all models come with a remote for you to control the ride-on from a distance.
Two-Seater Ride-Ons
These are probably our most popular option since they are perfect for families with multiple children or ones who often play with the neighbor kids. Don’t worry, though—these models work well for single riders as well, so you won’t always need two kids inside when in use. There are more models available in the two-seater variety, too. Lamborghini makes an appearance again, but other brands like Lexus, Mercedes, Maserati, and Land Rover are available as well.
On top of having Bluetooth and AUX ports, some of these models come with a built-in FM radio, in case your kid doesn’t have a device that can play music just yet. Some of them come with working lights too. That way, the kids can see more easily when the sun starts to go down, as well as be seen better by other people, especially passing cars.
One significant feature that many of the two-seater ride-ons is a touchscreen for the kids to use while sitting in the car. These screens come preloaded with cartoons that tell stories and teach lessons. Make sure your child knows not to watch and drive, though! If the touch screen sounds like an aspect that you and your child would be interested in, be sure to check out our selection of power wheels with touch screens.
Off-Roading Ride-Ons
If your kid loves to explore, there’s a good chance they won’t want to stay on the sidewalk. That’s when you should consider our off-road vehicles. That way, you won’t have to worry about them getting stuck or damaging the car when driving through the grass. Obviously, the go-to brand here is Jeep, but we also have a standard UTV available, if that’s more your kid’s style.
In order to properly work off-road, these models come with 4x4 capabilities, which run with up to four separate motors. They also have real shocks and more rigid wheels to hand any bumps that your kid drives over. They can be either one or two-seaters, but they still have most of the previously mentioned features like Bluetooth and touchscreens.
Motorcycle Ride-Ons
Here are our most unique ride-ons: the motorcycles. If your young one wants to be the coolest kid on the block, this is the way to do it. All of our motorbikes are a part of the Ducati brand, and all of them look excellent.
These bikes have most of the features mentioned in previous categories other than the touchscreens. However, they have some special ones due to the nature of the rid-on. The number one feature is the training wheels, which are perfect for kids who aren’t used to two-wheeled ride-ons yet. They also have a realistic throttle for more fine-tuned control while riding. Both of these lead to a more straightforward learning process, and, in some ways, can help when it comes time to teach your child how to ride a bike.
If your kid is older, though, we have a model made specifically for children aged seven to eleven. This bike is larger and can go over twice the speed of all our other ride-ons. This one is perfect for kids who love to move fast and have a great time.
Push Ride-Ons
If you feel like your child is too young for any of the above options, then the push ride-ons will be perfect for them. With the Mercedes branding, a pushable car has never looked so cool before.
These ride-ons have a giant retractable handle on the back for parents to use. However, the kid’s footrests can be moved out of the way to allow the kid to control the car as well. No matter the form of control, though, you won’t have to worry about your child moving too fast because all of the electronics onboard are for lights and playing music.
Electric Scooters
If your kid is way too old for any of these products, we offer an electric scooter as well. The recommended age for this product is 16 or older because it can travel at speeds up to 15 miles an hour. It has an LED display to let the user know how fast they are going, as well as other important info. Your kid can access anything not found on that screen through the mobile app, which is available on Android and iOS.
Extra Accessories
Now that you know how to choose the perfect ride-on vehicle for your child, it’s time to take a quick look at the accessories for the parents. We have a remote controller, 12V charger, and 12V Battery that you can pick up. It should be noted that these are all replacement parts. All of our ride-ons come with everything you need, but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared in case something breaks or dies on you.
